Welder Fitter
Responsibilities of the position:
- Layout and fabrication of orders on the shop floor.
- Determine material, operations, dimensions and sequence from blueprints and parts lists.
- Make jigs and fixtures for repetition production.
- Maintain all welding certifications in accordance with CWB welding qualifications.
- Assemble and weld of production units.
- Inspect product visually and dimensionally.
- Handle compressed gas cylinders as regulated and maintain them as required.
- As outlined in the Quality Policy & Procedures Manual, complete and maintain required paperwork.
- Ensure the timely production of work orders.
- Produce a quality product which ensures customer satisfaction.
- Maintain tools and machinery (welding machines) required to complete work orders in good condition.
- Clean workstation at end of shift.
- To adhere to all safety standards in the maintenance and use of machines
- Health & Safety as follows:
- Use and wear personal safety equipment provided by the company.
- Immediately report to supervisor any injury sustained at work.
- Report to supervisor any missing guards or defective equipment.
- Do not remove any protective devices from machines & equipment.
- Report to supervisor any workplace hazards.
- Comply with company health & safety policies and procedures.
- To adhere to the Rules of Conduct Policy
- Other duties as assigned
Preferred Machinery, Equipment & Software Requirements:

Preferred Qualifications & Training Requirements:
- Structural Steel (Plate Fitting) Certificate, preferred
- Canadian Welding Bureau Certificates
- Tow Motor Certificate, preferred
- Over Head Crane Certificate
- High School diploma preferred
- Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
- Sound ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
- Sound ability to use measuring equipment
- Sound knowledge of various brake press and punch press techniques
- Sound knowledge of layout and fabrication techniques including bending, rolling, cutting, punching
- Sound ability to interpret engineering drawings
- Sound knowledge of various welding techniques including, MIG, TIG, SMAW, GMAW, and FCAW
- Minimum 5 years experience working in a welding environment, preferred.
